Keisha Brumfield is the owner of Salon Vogue, a longstanding beauty staple in downtown Hammond since 2004. However, her journey in the beauty industry began even earlier. In 1997, she started Vogue in a small building behind her home, unknowingly laying the foundation for what would become a local institution.

Keisha’s late mother was a hairstylist, and although Keisha often helped her as a child, she didn’t immediately take to the profession. Instead, she pursued a degree in Business Administration at Southeastern Louisiana University, envisioning a different career path. However, after her mother’s passing, Keisha sought ways to stay connected to her. That, coupled with a desire for independence and flexibility, led her back to the beauty industry. What began as an act of grief soon transformed into a passion—Keisha fell in love with hairstyling, realizing it was the one profession that never felt like work.

For Keisha, the salon is more than a business—it’s a space of creativity, community, and connection. She thrives on the trust her clients place in her, especially when they come in unsure of what they want. Her consultation process is thorough and personalized; she takes the time to look at photos, discuss inspirations, and even review past hairstyles to ensure the final result aligns with her client’s vision. Seeing a client’s face light up after a transformation is what fuels her passion every day.

Keisha wears many hats—owner, manager, stylist, artist, and even therapist. She understands the pressures of modern beauty standards, often influenced by social media, and reassures her clients that she is there to help them achieve their dream look while embracing their natural beauty.
