Earth Day Cafe
The Hammond Branch is getting cozy with a one-day cafe. Families are invited to sample our nature-themed snacks in honor of Earth Day. Littles can bake something in the pretend play cafe. Meanwhile, older kids and adults can decorate spring cookies. There will be games, crafts, and practical tips to clean and beautify the world. Don’t forget to tip your plant!
Library Card Sign Up & Bingo
Join us as we help our seniors keep their reading habits flowing. We’ll be at Westminster Gardens, 501 Edwin Neill Way in Hammond on Thursday, April 24 at 1:00 pm and we will be renewing current library cards and signing up patrons for new cards. There will also be BINGO! So join us for this free event.
The Baroness Undressed
New Orleans based Performing Artist, Diana Shortez will present the newest incarnation of her original solo work “The Baroness Undressed” for her performance in celebration of Women’s History Month. This show is free to the public and begins at 6pm.
Dino Discovery
Dig into the history of Paleontologist Mary Anning and her contributions to science this Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in our Hammond Branch for our Dino Discovery.
Tangi Teens Pizza Party
Join Tangi Library for a slice of pizza and bring your ideas! In an effort to get to know the teens and understand what they want from the library, they are hosting pizza parties each week in January. It will be during the traditional Teen Time at each branch.
Old Swamp, New You: Shrek Watch Party
Join Tangi Library for a unique Shrek Watch Party and Ogre Spa Experience! In addition to the movie, families can enjoy fairy-tale themed snacks and face masks. Grab your comfiest robe and slippers and meet them in the swamp!

Winter Family Movie Night
Join the Hammond Branch Library on Friday, December 20 at 5:45 PM for a showing of The Muppet Christmas Carol! Snacks will be provided; however, please bring your own blankets and pillows, as the movie will be shown outdoors.

Join the Hammond Branch Library for their Super Saturday on Saturday, December 14 from 11 AM to 1 PM to spice up your winter with a day of gingerbread decorating with the whole family. Registration is not required but is highly encouraged!
